Artist bio
Olivia left her hometown of Syracuse, New York in 2001 to follow her heart’s desire – a life of creativity, passion, and continual evolution. After graduating from Colorado College in 2005, she moved to the Pacific Northwest, where she lived until taking up a volunteer art teacher position in South Africa (2008).
Olivia lived in South Africa and traveled intermittently until 2017 when she returned to the USA. Her homecoming was difficult and initiated a period of introspection that included trips to Mexico and to India, where she formally took up meditation. Through meditation, she re-connected with her love of drawing and painting.
Inspired by a figure drawing course in Italy, Olivia began using art, meditation, and nature to heal and find balance. Since then, she has assisted a German artist/teacher, participated in two group exhibitions, and earned Mindfulness Meditation teacher certification. In 2023 she studied under American abstract artist Ty Nathan Clark.
Coming from an artistic family, creativity was always present in Olivia’s life. However, only in the last few years has she begun to identify herself as an artist. The pandemic resulted in Olivia unexpectedly returning to South Africa, where she currently lives and creates from her studio in Muizenberg.
